OMG regarding burningman 2008

Finally Uchronia, they of the "Belgian Waffle", proposed an art installation representing a giant freeway overpass and interchange. The wooden structure would be capable of carrying cars and they had in mind to have several cars driving in a continuous loop around the cloverleaf junction.

At first the BMorg was no more thrilled about this than the restrictions on art cars. But after a long debate (often heated, she let on) it was decided that perhaps these ideas could all work together to suit this year's theme.

This part is having me think "hoax" -- what do you all say?

So far what they are considering for "roadways" is a continuation of the arc that forms the Esplanade so it becomes a full circle, a ring road. They also will have a road crossing the inner playa from 3:00 to 9:00 which will intersect the Promenade. A giant roundabout will encircle The Man and keep traffic flowing smoothly. At the likely more congested intersection of the Esplanade and the Promenade they are hoping to put Uchronia's overpass to real use allowing Esplanade traffic to cross above the Promenade. Traffic heading into center camp will also have the luxury of drive-through windows for coffee and ice.
