podcast that needs slicing

mms://nick9.surfernetwork.com/WhiteSpringsFiles/200708072200WhiteSprings.mp3 works in mediaplayer, is not recognized as "podcast" URL -- "

The enclosure URL was malformed. Changes saved."

http://nick9.surfernetwork.com/WhiteSpringsFiles/200708072200WhiteSprings.mp3 however, works, from browser, redirects to media player, but still not recognized as appropriate in roller --"The enclosure server returned an error. Do you have the right URL? Changes saved."

 

the right way to handle this  is (1) fix roller to allow other kinds of media? but is irrelevant if podcast receivers like itunes ignore the media type.

 but note that if it's an ASX file, then you just include the mms:// media type inside the ASX file...(see example podcast below).

perhaps roller should recognize "Enclosure URL" of type "mms://", punt on identification. instead, just make an ASX file "wrapping" it in the 'upload' area (??) and point people at that. then when it's put into an rss feed, at least windows people will be able to see it....
